This issue we catch up with J.J. to quiz him on the progress of season 4, but more of that later, first it's Spy Daddy Mrk II!
We do love Ron Ron, we do love Ron!
There aren't many people who you can love to hate more than Arvin Sloane, a.k.a. Ron Rifkin. We recently caught up with the 2nd Spy Daddy to get his reaction on the news of a daughter, his hopes for the year ahead and that tryst with Dr Barnett:
"I thought it was really good to show Sloane in that sort of situation, and I'm hoping that the affair might be in he next season."
We also got his take on the possible head of The Covenant:
"Well, did you see the last episode with Jack?! Maybe Jack is bad and Sloane is good? Do you miss Sloane, you know, hanging out with the guys? That's the thing that I miss - being around all of them, because I was so isolated this year. I have a feeling, next year that I'm gonna have more contact with them."
Reanimation!
Continuing our fantastic coverage of The Animated Alias: Tribunal this issue we've got another exclusive with its Producer, John Bernstein! In the 'making of' feature he tells us about the visual style of the animation: "We'd got to the point where we had a cartoon that looked exactly like Jennifer Garner, which was cool. But J.J. [Abrams], Jesse [Co-Executive Producer Jesse Alexander], and Breen [Alias staff writer Breen Frazier] especially felt we really didn't need that. They wanted a much more stylized approach. So, it definitely looks like her but it's not a spitting image, and that's by design."
Alias Fans Unite
The Alias Rendezvous Convention in London, England, was the first ever Alias fan event! Alias stars Melissa George (Lauren Reed), David Anders (Mr. Sark) and Bradley Cooper (Will Tippin) were all present, as was Alias Magazine! If you weren't lucky enough to be there, too, you'll want to read our great convention report and find out all the highlights of the Alias-centric weekend!
J.J. talks about Season 4!
Having read the first draft of the season four premier episode, Alias Magazine was very keen to speak to Alias creator J.J. Abrams about the end of the Season 3, the direction the new season will be taking, and where the characters will be heading next year. Don't worry, Abrams is very careful not to give too much away, but there's more than enough here to whet your appetites - as promised, here's a little about J.J.'s take on the 2 hour premier:
"I love the idea of starting the year with this event. What I'm excited about is there's quite a readjustment of the world. I tried to write it very much from the point of view of someone who had never seen the show, as well as write for people who know the characters as well as I do…You'll see what happens with Sydney and Vaughn - the love story isn't so easy. Sydney's relationship with her father is mitigated by some new information that you will see.
Not only, but also
We've also got you news on the new starters and possible old favourites returning this season, interviews with tip top Alias types and a competition to win the first three seasons on DVD!
